Easy Snacks Tips for Kids on the Go

Easy Snacks Tips for Kids on the Go

Kids need to be well nourished during and after school hours. As a mom, you need to make sure that your kids are well fed so they don’t go hungry or get dehydrated at any point throughout the day.

Favorite snacks should be anything flexible that would be fitting for snack times during school hours or even during extracurricular activities. Our ONYX Lunch Boxes and Water Bottles are available in a multitude of sizes and shapes to help you prepare your kid on the go.  We also have ONYX Sealware products in larger sizes if you plan on packing larger quantities of food.

Popular snack foods to pack along for your kid include:

  • Ham & cheese sandwiches
  • Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches
  • Chocolate chip cookies
  • Crackers with cheese slices
  • Omelet with mushrooms, ham, tomatoes
  • Granola bars

Fruits

Fruits are always critical for your child’s health and immunity.  To make sure your kid gets his or her proper daily intake, fruits are a good snack choice to bring along.  Prepare a lunch box of cut up pieces of 2 or 3 different kinds of fruits, like apples, watermelons, sliced oranges, bananas, pears, or papayas.  The trick is to bring them along in a leak-proof lunch box so water from fruits does not trickle out of the boxes.  We offer a wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes on our page of ONYX Lunch Boxes and ONYX Refresh Lunch Boxes.

Water

Always prepare a water bottle for your kid to bring around, whether it be to school or after school activities.  Our ONYX Water Bottles are equipped with straps for your child to easily carry along.  We also have ONYX Refresh bottles in larger sizes for sports or long car rides.

The recommended daily amounts of fluids that kids should drink daily are:

  • 5 glasses (1 liter) for 5-8 year olds
  • 7 glasses (1.5 liters) for 9-12 year olds
  • 8-10 glasses (2 liters) for 13+ year olds
